Meditation for Insomnia

This is wonderful meditation for insomnia …. Ahhh to fall into restful, relaxing sleep. You can either watch the video, or follow the instructions below.

Note: Please only do this meditation when you are going to rest afterwards and will not have to drive a car. I don’t teach this meditation in public classes because it truly will make you so relaxed, you might just forget where you are driving… (I’ve had it happen!)

Our bodies require good rest. In Start Trek, the Borgs would have to plug into special alcoves each night for “regeneration time”. This is just what we need. Our bodies and minds must have time to regenerate, heal and strengthen. Alas, good sleep just evades us too often.

And so, this is a great meditation to use once in a while if you find yourself up and not able to fall asleep.

If you struggle with regular insomnia, then I recommend doing this […]

Healing Through Groundhog Day

What if you had to live the same day over and over again forever…
or at least until something inside you changed…
If you’ve never seen Bill Murray in the movie “Groundhog Day”, you must go see it immediately!! It is one of the most profound movies you will ever see about how changing your consciousness changes your whole experience of life!!

Many of us feel stuck in a rut… Or at least stuck in a routine that never seems to change. We wake up, we get the kids ready, we make lunches, we go to work, we talk to the same people, take the same route home, eat supper, etc, etc, etc… We smile and try to make the best of it… But the bottom line is that most of our society struggles with depression, anxiety, and all kinds of issues…

In the movie, Bill gets caught literally reliving the day that […]

Your Dreams Never Give up on You

You know those dreams and hopes that just don’t go away? Well, they aren’t going anywhere. They will stay with you until… well.. until they happen. :)

Sometimes it’s easy to lose hope that our lives will ever turn out the way we want. We know what we want. Or we know how we want to feel. But the world of responsibilities and “life” seemed to take over somewhere along the way and we feel like actually creating a life of freedom, happiness and ease is just not going to happen for us.

But here’s the good news!! Our inner spirit never gives up!! Why?  Because this is the energy that makes us ALIVE! This is the creative force inside of us that is dying to experience this amazing world.

And no matter how many jobs and dishes and obligations we put in front of that, that amazing energy will keep trying to escape… just […]

The Healing Power of Love – Meditation

One of the challenges of the Inner Journey is that it often feels lonely. Not only that, but we have to come face to face with how alone we feel deep inside. This video and meditation helps us to feel the love from everyone in our lives – whether they are with us or not. It helps us to feel connected and safe and helps us to access that “healing power of love” that the ancients are always talking about.

How does this meditation affect you? Could you do it? Was it hard to feel? Was it hard to stay focused?

When I first did this meditation, I was amazed at how my struggle was actually to believe that these other people actually wanted to keep sending me love for that long… and they weren’t even there… that sure gave me lots to think about…

What about you?

Acupuncture for the Soul

What if there were two sets of muscles in our bodies? One set is used in the Outside/Material world… and the other set is used in our Inner/Energetic world.

The Outer World Set would include: our abilities to get an education, to learn a trade, to get a job, to keep a job, to pay the bills, to play hockey, to read books, to play with children, to visit our parents, to help others, to brush our teeth, etc….

The Inner world set would include: intuition where we hear personal guidance, the sense of empathy – when we can feel what someone else is feeling, compassion – placing ourselves in the position of another, true unconditional love – fully being with someone completely without judgement, spirituality- our sense of belonging to something so much greater than what we can see, our Inner Peace – that part of us that is unchanging and still regardless of our circumstances.

In the movie “The Matrix”, […]

Being the Person our Kids can Count On

What is our ideal role as parents? What if it isn’t what we’ve been taught? What if it isn’t to be the disciplinarian – keeping them in line. Or the one who “molds them into model citizens”. What if our ideal role is to be the safe person in a crazy world, that they can count on when they need it?
About 10 years ago, I found myself driving a sixteen-year-old daughter of a close friend of mine home after she had been babysitting my kids. Somehow, we got on the conversation of sex… and somehow I ended up asking her if she had had sex yet. She looked at me aghast and said none-too-forcefully, “WHAT? Of course not! As if I’d have sex without talking to my mom first!””WHAT?????????????????” is what rang in my head!!!!I couldn’t believe it. What teenager would EVER talk to their parents about sex or ANYTHING […]

Actually Being Honest with our Teens

We all want to have great relationships with our kids. But what about our teens? How do we connect with them? One of the biggest problems is that most of the time we are lying to them about the topics that they are struggling with the most – sex, alcohol, peers, drugs, etc. This video is all about how to be honest with them and how to access our own wisdom that we gained through our experiences so that we can help our kids… and so that they feel safe to confide in us so we have a chance of actually helping them through these tough years!

Loving Raising My Children

My name is Katrina Bos. I have two children: my son Aaron is 19 and my daughter Taylor is 17. And since the day they were born, they just took my breath away.

I know that children are born every day. It’s normal. Maybe I’m weird. Maybe I have weird karma. I don’t know. But from the moment they were born, I would look at them and I just couldn’t believe they were there. I couldn’t believe that they were part of my life. It’s hard to explain without sounding really corny. But I just have always really appreciated them.

Now don’t get me wrong. There have been tough times… My son was colicky. He cried nearly non-stop night and day for his first eleven months of life… I’m not saying that I was always so grateful during all those moments… But these are the times that (once long over and you’re […]
